Redmi Sells 23.6 Million Units of Redmi A Series Smartphones Xiaomi, on its official India Twitter handle, has announced that the Redmi A series of smartphones have sold a whopping 23.6 million units in India, which is more than the population of entire Australia. The total number of Redmi A series smartphones sold in India include the three previous devices in this series – the Redmi 4A, the Redmi 5A and the Redmi 6A. Along with sharing this milestone figure with the public, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer also teased the launch of the next smartphone in this series – the Redmi 7A. The Tweet on Mi India official Twitter handle read, “Fact check! Total no. of Redmi A Series phones sold in > the population of #Australia. Crazy, right? And to take that legacy ahead comes the #Redmi7A - #SmartDeshKaSmartphone. Can you guess the launch date?” With this, Xiaomi has officially put out a word about the launch of the Redmi 7A. It is also worth noting that another smartphone which is in the pipeline and is awaiting the launch in India, is the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro which are the flagship phones from Xiaomi this year. These phones have also been teased on Twitter by the brand. It is entirely possible that Xiaomi might debut its flagship devices, the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro along with its budget segment smartphone – the Redmi 7A. Other Pending Launches from Xiaomi This Year in India Since the A series of smartphones lands strictly in the budget segment, we expect that the phone would be priced somewhere around the Rs 6,000 price mark or slightly less than that. However, the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro will be priced much higher somewhere in the sub Rs 30,000 price tag. As the days are passing, we are getting near to a lot of significant launches from Xiaomi. While the flagship phone from Redmi has made its way to China, it is awaiting launch in India, and the Redmi 7A would be a big debut for budget buyers of Redmi smartphones. Another big launch which we can witness from Xiaomi this year is the Poco F2, which will take the Poco moniker forward with a focus on performance. Previously, there were rumours that the Redmi K20 Pro could be the Poco F2, but now it seems that these two devices will be different altogether.
